As a young boy, Naji Nizam fell in love with football, but after being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at age 7, he was told his condition would make it impossible for him to play the sport. Despite his incurable genetic disease, which attacks and gradually weakens his muscles, the 17-year-old senior at Earl L. Vandermeulen High School in Port Jefferson fulfilled a dream this football season by appearing in two varsity games, including the season finale on Nov. 2 against Shoreham-Wading River. | Here's the story
