New Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act benefits Long Island homeowners

Thanks to a foreclosure law signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul in December, mortgage lenders can no longer stop and start foreclosure cases to extend the limitation time. The Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act is designed to limit the ways mortgage lenders can extend the six-year statute of limitations for judicial foreclosure cases.
